Actually, I need to know what to do about “Pingbacks”. They are described as remote comments. But do I keep them, trash them or spam them? Anyone know the answer?

I don’t know for sure, but I think Pinkbacks can be adventitious.

Thanks for all the links. I’ll do my research. Love the word “adventitious”.
I just responded to your message and instead of seeing my reply, your message was duplicated. Computer stuff happens and I have no idea why. Anyway, thanks for the links. I’ll do my research on pingbacks.
Good question! Are they some fancy-dancy way of simply saying “I’ve linked to your post”?
Will have to see what WordPress Support has to say.
Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll see what I can find at WordPress Support.
JSD is right.
Whenever someone on wordpress links your blog, you have the option of approving the pingback or trackback to appear like a comment at the end of the post that was linked. I approve them if I feel the site isn’t spamming.
The pingbacks appear to be coming from my own blog when I make links within my post. I’ve been deleting them.
ive had that happen too. i haven’t been able to figure it out either!
Read some of the other comments. There are links for information and great feedback on what others are doing. Thanks for responding.
Yup, that happens, too. I approve them because it gives readers a direct link to another post on my blog. Instead of searching for the post I’m referencing, they can just click on it. Its a nice way to link everything and it helps bring more “clicks” to your blog.
This helps. Appreciate the feedback. If it makes viewing easier, I’m all for approving the pingbacks.
