Persistence

Hello!

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence… One Percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration…the desire to keep going etc.etc.   What is your dream and how hard are you working towards that dream?  Going through boxes of old papers, I recently ran across my goal list from 1975.  I wrote that I wanted to learn how to draw and paint and another goal was to take English horse riding lessons.  I did sign up for ten lessons and it was much more difficult than I thought.  I finished the series, even after a couple of falls, but that ended my riding career.

The goal of drawing and painting, I’m still working on.  Over time, I’ve created a visual diary of my life using art as my voice.  The watercolors I’ve shared are my most recent chapter, a more playful chapter.

I also wanted to be a writer, but I’ll talk more later on that goal.  I am amazed at what I have saved:  boxes of greeting cards, quotes, letters, notebooks, books, and more books.

Several years ago I reached information overload and experienced a sort of paralysis of the mind.  That’s when my pendulum began to shift in the other direction.  Instead of accumulating, I’ve been on a mission to de-clutter, unburden, and free up my environment and my mind.  I still have much to do, but my creativity and ideas are beginning to flow.
