Pageant of the Masters

Each summer Laguna Beach, California hosts the Pageant of the Masters celebration of art in tableaux vivants, living pictures.  This year’s show, titled Only Make Believe, features paintings, illustrations and sculptures recreated in life-size forms using human volunteers as the characters.  Dragons, fairies, and monkeys, along with Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland are all represented.  And much more….

I mention the show for two reasons:  first, the show will be ending at the end of August, and second, I volunteer in the make-up department and cherish my involvement.  Because of the wedding, this summer has been slim, only helping out a few times.  However, other years I’ve dedicated many nights to working the show.  To sum it up:  Great fun and inspiration and life is richer.
