Blog Question – What are Pingbacks?

Actually, I need to know what to do about “Pingbacks”.    They are described as remote comments.  But do I keep them, trash them or spam them?  Anyone know the answer?

  1. JSD says:

Good question! Are they some fancy-dancy way of simply saying “I’ve linked to your post”?
Will have to see what WordPress Support has to say.

  2. JSD is right. 🙂 Whenever someone on wordpress links your blog, you have the option of approving the pingback or trackback to appear like a comment at the end of the post that was linked. I approve them if I feel the site isn’t spamming. 🙂
