Found More Art!!!

Yes, there are benefits to organizing.  I am finding things I completely forgot about.  I now have more art to share!   In the past, usually out of frustration for not knowing something, I’ve jumped into “a painting a day mode” to learn, i.e. color, or shapes, or playfulness.   The paintings I will share over the next month or so are studies.  I often found inspiration in other painters’ work.  Great exercises, copying master works help with problem solving:  identifying color, developing composition, laying in of lights and darks, building up texture, etc.                                                                                                                                                                                            Here’s two works:  LR Study of Picasso’s Boy With A Dove  and LR Study of Picasso’s Rooster.  I used acrylic paint for both.  Anyone who’s worked with acrylics knows that they dry fast and that means I had to work fast. No time to stress or ruminate!    There are newspaper collage pieces on the rooster study.  Enjoy!

  1. What fun finds! The piece on the left reminds me a little bit of Cezanne. 🙂

You’re right about the treasures one can come upon when going through closets and boxes, etc. I’m so glad you found these studies. They’re great!

  3. Sartenada says:

Great art both of them. My favorite is the boy with a dove.
