Sunflowers and Other Tidbits

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted…

Sketch flowersand it’s been awhile since I’ve painted.  Remember all the little watercolor sketches and the joy energy? I thought I would write some updates to my life.

Update #1:  Organizing at a feverish pitch, going through papers mostly, I’ve been color coding my ideas into binders.  I’m trying to come up with a system for keeping the “Oh so very practical thoughts” side-by-side with the “Oh so riding the wind and flying through clouds dream thoughts” separate, so that my mind has room for both.  I need one and don’t want to lose the other. Does that make sense?

It is 2:30 a.m. and there was a five-minute cloudburst and I didn’t even know it was supposed to rain. (written 7-23)
100_2300Update #1:  Monarch Butterflies:  I presently have nineteen cocoons hanging and waiting around my backyard, small little green chrysalis on the wall, the fence, the rosebush, the chair.    And, there are five caterpillars still munching on the bush, the milkweed.  This next week should be an active one with butterflies taking flight.  Pause.  Soak in that image!!!
I am worried that some predator flies might have gotten to several vulnerable cocoons but must wait and see.  Predators.  The birds haven’t been a problem, but spiders and flies, well I will leave that up to your imagination.

Update #2:  Doll energy Gone.  But maybe to resurface later.

Update #3:  Writing.  I am fully immersed in a new chapter of my life.  The chapter is  titled “Pulling It All Together” and my obsession is to finish.  Period.   Why all the colored binders?  Because I have more than one novel in my head, along with a memoir focusing on my  creative outpouring.   Keeping track of the memoir is easy because I just add a new chapter title and details just to remind me on what to write about if the day every arrives to finish.  Does that make sense?
Here’s a link to my past list:  Memoir or Not.  Chapter 7 Creative Finds Joy and Chapter 8 Pulling It All Together have overlapped for several years now and each can definitely be expanded.  Remember my Peony Madness?  That energy definitely goes into Chapter 7.
Exercise:  Memoir Your Life:
Pick a focus
(for me it was creative phases and emotions)
Give chapter titles and
Make a list of what goes in that chapter.
Maybe the focus of your memoir would be travel, or teaching experiences, or each chapter is an animal on your farm.  I think you get the idea.

Pink = Linda’s files, memoir, writing ideas to be developed, family
Green = Journey of the Horses
Blue and Orange are Book 1 and Book 2 of a series….
White = Tools (on character, plot, process, grammar, How To)

Okay.  I am never at a loss for ideas, only time.  Life continues to send challenges.  I must stay strong and continue focusing on the present day, keeping life manageable.  And, Keep the wonder! Geese Girl watercolor

You are way more organized than I am. You inspire me.

And that’s interesting about your doll energy. I get that too. Right now I’m in the middle of sewing mania, paper toys = not so much. Everything ebbs and flows.

    Grats on the lovely butterflies,

    Big hugs, M

    • Hi Marilyn, I saw one of your sewing creations – great job!!Glad you are energized. I love fabrics and patterns. Yes the ebbs and flows…I’m definitely feeling those but find ways to stay internally excited…right now it is my Monarchs. One is ready to break out and fly, maybe today, but I may miss it. Hugs back, Linda

Linda, I love how you see the wonder in the world. You inspire me to take the time to appreciate it more. Your painting of the woman with the geese captures the essence of “wonder.”

  3. You’ve been busy!! 🙂
